Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of InboxShield ("the App", "we", "our", "us"), a spam filtering application available on WordPress, Shopify, Wix, and Webflow that helps reduce unwanted contact form spam. By installing or using InboxShield, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

InboxShield is a spam filtering application for websites. It intercepts contact form submissions, scores them against a multi-layer spam engine, and blocks messages that are identified as spam or junk. Clean messages are delivered as normal.

• WordPress: InboxShield operates as a plugin that hooks into 9 supported form plugins (Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms, Ninja Forms, Fluent Forms, Formidable Forms, SureForms, Elementor Forms, Divi Contact Forms). The rule engine runs locally on your server. Optional AI classification uses Anthropic's Claude API for uncertain messages.
• Shopify: InboxShield operates as a theme app embed that intercepts contact form submissions via App Proxy.
• Wix: InboxShield integrates with Wix Forms as a submission validation service plugin, evaluating submissions in real-time.
• Webflow: InboxShield connects via OAuth and evaluates form submissions through the Webflow API.

InboxShield helps reduce unwanted messages but does not guarantee the elimination of all spam. The effectiveness of filtering depends on the nature of submissions and the settings configured by the site owner.

2. Fail-Safe Design

If InboxShield's system encounters an error or becomes temporarily unavailable, form submissions are allowed through and delivered normally. We will never silently drop or lose a legitimate message due to a system failure.

3. Eligibility

To use InboxShield, you must:

• Have an active website on a supported platform (WordPress, Shopify, Wix, or Webflow).
• Be authorized to install applications or plugins on that site.
• Agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

4. Plans and Pricing

WordPress

The rule engine is free forever with no message limits. AI-powered classification is coming soon and will be free for early adopters during the beta period.

Shopify & Wix

Free Plan: 50 protected messages per month, rule-based filtering, message dashboard.

Premium Plan: $4.99/month. Unlimited protected messages, custom keyword filters, trusted sender whitelist, and priority support. A 7-day free trial is available. On Shopify, billing is handled through Shopify's billing system. On Wix, billing is managed through the Wix App Market.

Webflow

InboxShield for Webflow is currently a free service. We may introduce paid plans in the future — users will be notified in advance of any pricing changes.

You may cancel at any time through your platform's admin dashboard.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use InboxShield for any purpose other than filtering contact form submissions on your website.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the application.
• Use the App to collect, harvest, or misuse personal data from form submissions.
• Circumvent or abuse free plan message limits.
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

6. Data Handling

Our data collection and handling practices are described in our Privacy Policy. By using InboxShield, you acknowledge that:

• We collect sender email addresses, message previews (max 100 characters), and IP addresses for spam scoring.
• Personal data (names, emails, phone numbers, addresses) is never sent to AI services.
• All data is permanently deleted when you uninstall InboxShield.
• You can delete all your data at any time from the dashboard (Settings → Data → Delete All My Data).

7. Availability and Updates

We strive to keep InboxShield available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability. We may update the service to improve functionality, fix bugs, or add features — users will be notified of significant changes.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• InboxShield is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We are not liable for any missed spam messages, incorrectly blocked legitimate messages (false positives), or any resulting business impact.
• Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of InboxShield shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Intellectual Property

InboxShield, including its design, code, and branding, is the intellectual property of its developers. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the App on your website as described in these Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using InboxShield at any time by uninstalling it from your platform. Uninstalling triggers permanent deletion of all associated data. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of InboxShield after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal proceedings.
